OPENING SOON
A project that was Started at the beginning of this year and now nearly completed… THE TRAINING GROUND: Skateboard, BMX, Slackline, and Trampoline Park.
A place where kids can have fun, enjoy excercise, be with their friends and push their physical and mental limits above and beyond.
Surrounded by nature and full of challenges, we hope this will be a place for Children to releive stress and find new skills, that will help children achieve their dreams.
A mini ropes course and play area, that I made at the back of my school, its very physically challenging、 and when I planned it I tried to make it so the children use a huge range of physical skills as possible. Japan is a place where kids are told not to climb trees because its too dangerous, (My daughter “Sky” got told off for running up an empty slide by an Obasan in our local park, because its “too dangerous”) and children in Japan spend way too much time watching T.V. and playing video games. I grew up in the countryside and have a strong passion for outdoor adventure. My students understand the fun that can be had with nature and the outdoors, and they know its worth the risk of the occasional cut or bruise. Most of the kids in this video are 3 years old.
This Video shows some of our Children doing our daily tumbling program.
These Kids are age 3 and above, and love improving there Physical Skills, I hope you enjoy…
This video shows you a typical day at REAL preschool. Its so much fun at our new school in Tahara. The enviroment the kids are learning in is excellent . REAL preschool kids are the Strongest, Fastest, Smartest, Toughest, Coolest kids in JAPAN, They are Elite, They are Stars, They are winners, They are the Best!!!!
This is a very simple presentation, made by some of the Preschool Kids last wednesday, it introduces some basic shapes and colors. The english level is low and of course its very easy for our REAL preschool students, and is intended for young “Non Bilingual” Japanese Children to enjoy.
Today at preschool after lunch, everybody had fun skateboarding. Everybody keeps getting better and better, Its so much fun to watch. Spring is here and everybody took off their tshirts and enjoyed the lovely warm sun.
Once again its that bittersweet time of end of year graduation, Noa and Lea did a great job at preschool and speak better english than some native children their own age. Im really proud of you guys, and it was fun watching you grow up into strong little people. I know you will do great in your new schools. The Graduation was fun and a big thanks to everyone that came to watch. Good Luck Guys!!, I look forward to seeing you on friday nights.
A Dance performed by 3 of our Preschool children. At real we do many types of dance: Hiphop, Modern, Disco, etc… most are fun and lighthearted. but this dance has a little bit more of a serious theme. We believe that dance is a great form of expression as well as a great way to develop rythym and co-ordination. Please watch and I hope you can enjoy it.
Front Flips, Somersaults, Cartwheels, Handstands, Punch fronts, Back tucks, Back handsprings, Cartwheels, Roundoffs, These are just some of the basic tumbling maneuvers. At Real we practice all different kind of moves everyday, Today was Rainy day and Lea, Noah and Shin took the challenge of “raised start front flips” and they did an awesome job.
Tools: Step Ladder, Sofa, and alot of Courage, Great Timing and Great Coordination.
Today, Sky makes the 3 foot big drop from the top of our school Mini Ramp. At this moment 2 years old is the youngest I’ve ever seen anyone make the drop, Maybe its a world record I’m not really sure. but no doubt about its a big milestone for Sky.
Im excited to see where she will take here Skateboarding from here..
Todays theme at preschool: “Yes, I Can.”
The kids at Real show you the way.
They know that You can do anything if you try hard enough. Age, size and gender are irrelevant. Just dont give up, fight for your goals and always do your best and you will surely succeed.
Living in this area of Aichi, we don’t get that many opportunities to play with Snow. So today at REAL we made made the most of this wonderful opportunity and quickly went to the park to have some fun in the snow.
These days Noa and Leah have been working very hard on the mini ramp too, Heres a short video of their hard work.
Shin keeps getting better and better I wouldn`t be surprised if he is the best 5 year old skater in the country.
Skateboard is a very challenging sport and getting hurt from time to time is a given. Never the less Shin, Noa and Lea are doing great and are having a good time while doing it. PLEASE ENJOY!!!
This is a short video of some of our Students describing their favourite zoo animals. Students are also asked to explain to us why the like there chosen animal. All Students are unassisted, and as you can imagine there is a great deal of pressure to deal with, when Your asked to speak alone in front of a video camera. Especially when you are in the 2-6 age group. I think everyone did superbly well. Good Job Guys!!!
A story about a monkey who buys a small dog magnet, with disastrous results, which then surprisingly turn into pretty good results.
Read to you unassisted by Lea, Noa and Shin, who are just 5 and 6 years old.
Good Job Guys!
Mixed Media Brainstorming.
Today at art time we made a picture together using a brainstorming technique to pull the ideas from Noa and Shin’s head. The theme we started with was “I” and it went like this… I am a person and I have HANDS, A HAND looks a little like a TREE, a TREE is home to SPIDERS, SPIDERS are insects and so are SNAILS.
Which already gave us fives things to draw on our picture :Myself, a hand, a tree, a spider and a snail. we used different medias for every part of the picture. Sprays, Crayons, Felt Tips, tracing and Stenciling. The pictures turned out as wonderful peices of modern art.
Today at art time, we had alot of fun. The younger children went for a walk to collected leaves for a very leafy art collage.
While Noah, Shin and I did self portraits (well, I did Sky’s actually). I was very impressed with Noah and Shin’s self portraits they were very well and balanced and realistic for Pre School children. Great Job Guys!!!
Our bodies are amazing things, and with making effort to get better at different skills, We can teach our bodies to go beyond the limits… The ability to Jump is such a wonderful thing. Jumping strengthens infants leg and core muscles as well as this, it also promotes better motor coordination and balance. being able to jump and land well, is a skill that will help in any sport and jumping will also help you learn to prevent injury by landing well.
When was the last time you jumped off of something? What a fantastic feeling!! We “adults” seem to have forgotten that great exhilaration that we get when we jump.
Well, the Kids at REAL Preschool have NOT forgotten. Infact I think they are probably the best at jumping for there age in Toyohashi, maybe even Japan.
As the weather has become alot cooler, We have started skateboarding again, Shin has been working very hard. Here is his latest VIDEO:- Please Check it out. REMEMBER: He is only 5 years old…..
Its gonna be sad to see Miyu leave our preschool, but we wish you all the best and take care.
Good Luck to daddy in his new job in Nagoya.
Miyuがプリスクールを去ることになりとても悲しいですが、君の幸運を祈ります。
Miyu’s daddyも名古屋で頑張ってくださいね。
Today is Tuesday, which is usually our Pool Day, but because it is hot outside, we decided to go to Shiroya beach instead. We had a great time and the park was so big to run around in, everybody got so hot and sticky. It was great to cool off after lunch in the blue sea, the water was very clear and warm. We all had such wonderful day.
The last couple of weeks, its been raining alot and so hot and sticky at school.
Today was sunny so we decided to go to the beach in bentenjima. How refreshing to have lunch by the big blue Sea. We found some shells with crabs inside, they are called Hermit Crabs. It was so funny to watch these wallking shells.
A Sunny Friday, What a great time for cool watermelon, and a day out at Hamamatsu Garden park.
Did you know that turtles love watermelon? I didnt either.. I think Lea and Noa bounced and jumped on the Jungle gym net for over an hour, Everbody enjoyed the slide too, its so fast.
It has started to get much warmer over the last few weeks, So today we decided to play in the pool, for some of the children this was their first experience to be with so much water other than bath time at home. As you already know at Real a great deal of our time in the summer is spent playing in water, so today was a very important day for the the rookie kids… Splish Splash, under the hot sun, what a great time.
Today was such a lovely sunny day, We decided to go to the beach to play in the sand, and to watch the wonderful blue Ocean. The water was actually quite warm and it was lovely to paddle in the shorebareak, We all enjoyed finding crabs, shells and urchins and all kinds of sealife that were left behind in the rock pools. Kadoya has so many big rocks that were fun to climb up and jump into the sand. Sometimes its easy to forget the beauty that surrounds us, especially living here we are so lucky with the nature thats surrounds us. I really recommend to anyone that hasn`t been to the beach in a while to go and have a visit. its so beautiful and very near to us too.
Today the “5 year old” team Lea, Noa and Shin did their studying in front of the camera just like a TV show. I was very impressed by how confidentally the 3 of them performed considering they had the extra pressure of the Video Camera pointing at them.
This is just a little glimpse of what they do at preschool, and of course speaking freely (conversation) in English is easy for them but at 5 years old their English Reading is Superb.
Today we went to “Gorilla Park” in Tahara, for lunch. Its was such a warm day and so much fun to play on the big gorilla slide. Shin, Lea, Noa And Rina, enjoyed jumping over the rocks in the pond, which actually ended up in all of them getting their feet wet at some point. but thats sometimes the price of fun and its still well worth taking up the challenge. Anyway, on warm days like today we can dry our shoes so quickly, right????
This is our 2010 Graduation Ceremony, We are very sad to no longer be able see you guys everyday, but we hope your having a great time at your new schools and are making lots of new friends. I can’t wait to see you guys on friday for “Real Family”, Lets have lots of fun together, and chat loads in English.

Challenging activities are a necessary component that aid in youth development. Challenging means that participants stretch beyond their current range of knowledge and skills and have opportunities to test and master their skills in the real world. Activities that tap into young people’s natural curiosity and interest in discovery will motivate, rather than discourage, their eagerness to learn physical, intellectual, psychological, emotional and social skills. When we play at outside at preschool, one of our biggest goals is to show children how much fun being outside in nature is.
With a natural playground all around us, do we really gameboy DS and toys or tv???
Outside is so much more fun, healthy and its free…. Continue reading →
“Real” kids speak and read english very well, its real…
They follow intense training, using group pressure to function individually and also as a team keeping a high tempo and keeping it fun, this was some of todays training..
This video is a good example of the kind of pressure we put on our students on a day to day basis, as you can see our students love this pressure and are very hungry to learn, we believe they are within the elite for their age group (2-6year olds) for speaking english as a second language in Japan.
