The last couple of weeks, its been raining alot and so hot and sticky at school.
Today was sunny so we decided to go to the beach in bentenjima. How refreshing to have lunch by the big blue Sea. We found some shells with crabs inside, they are called Hermit Crabs. It was so funny to watch these wallking shells.
A Sunny Friday, What a great time for cool watermelon, and a day out at Hamamatsu Garden park.
Did you know that turtles love watermelon? I didnt either.. I think Lea and Noa bounced and jumped on the Jungle gym net for over an hour, Everbody enjoyed the slide too, its so fast.
It has started to get much warmer over the last few weeks, So today we decided to play in the pool, for some of the children this was their first experience to be with so much water other than bath time at home. As you already know at Real a great deal of our time in the summer is spent playing in water, so today was a very important day for the the rookie kids… Splish Splash, under the hot sun, what a great time.
Today was such a lovely sunny day, We decided to go to the beach to play in the sand, and to watch the wonderful blue Ocean. The water was actually quite warm and it was lovely to paddle in the shorebareak, We all enjoyed finding crabs, shells and urchins and all kinds of sealife that were left behind in the rock pools. Kadoya has so many big rocks that were fun to climb up and jump into the sand. Sometimes its easy to forget the beauty that surrounds us, especially living here we are so lucky with the nature thats surrounds us. I really recommend to anyone that hasn`t been to the beach in a while to go and have a visit. its so beautiful and very near to us too.
Today the “5 year old” team Lea, Noa and Shin did their studying in front of the camera just like a TV show. I was very impressed by how confidentally the 3 of them performed considering they had the extra pressure of the Video Camera pointing at them.
This is just a little glimpse of what they do at preschool, and of course speaking freely (conversation) in English is easy for them but at 5 years old their English Reading is Superb.
Today we went to “Gorilla Park” in Tahara, for lunch. Its was such a warm day and so much fun to play on the big gorilla slide. Shin, Lea, Noa And Rina, enjoyed jumping over the rocks in the pond, which actually ended up in all of them getting their feet wet at some point. but thats sometimes the price of fun and its still well worth taking up the challenge. Anyway, on warm days like today we can dry our shoes so quickly, right????

Challenging activities are a necessary component that aid in youth development. Challenging means that participants stretch beyond their current range of knowledge and skills and have opportunities to test and master their skills in the real world. Activities that tap into young people’s natural curiosity and interest in discovery will motivate, rather than discourage, their eagerness to learn physical, intellectual, psychological, emotional and social skills.
“Real” kids speak and read english very well, its real…
They follow intense training, using group pressure to function individually and also as a team keeping a high tempo and keeping it fun, this was some of todays training..
This video is a good example of the kind of pressure we put on our students on a day to day basis, as you can see our students love this pressure and are very hungry to learn, we believe they are within the elite for their age group (2-6year olds) for speaking english as a second language in Japan.
Little Real Preschool.
We are introducing a NEW weekly running program into our school as of this month. We will run the full course around Banba Park every Tuesday as of this month, the circumference of Banba Park is 3.3km. We believe this will be a great challenge for our students both mentally and physically.
This week we went to Shinshiro River. Shinshiro is a very beautiful place the air is cleaner than Toyohashi, and running around in the warm sunshine was very fun. We tried to cross a shallow part of the river, there were many rocks to try to hop across, although the girls carefully managed to keep their feet fairly dry. The boys rushed across and all got wet.
After lunch we made a fire to dry our clothes. This was a good chance to explain about fire safety, and explain reasons why we say “dont play with matches or lighters”. After we had finished with the fire we made she it was properly extinguished.
I often feel sad at the change of seasons because it reminds me that life is passing by, we are all growing older and changing which unfortunately in life means moving on too.. 2 more seasons (half a year) and Ayumu, Nina, Shuhei and Saya
will be moving on to elementary school. Of course Im happy to see them grow and progress through life, but at the same time..
I know I will be very sad not to see them everyday. Feeling autumn`s cool wind in the air and smelling the Osmanthus(金木犀) means one thing for me and that is that we need to have fun, more fun the the last 2 seasons and fit in as many special memories as we can in the short time that we have left together..
